If you work for a restaurant that has delivery, consider using car magnets to help advertise your business. Car magnets are a great way to expand your customer base, as you will reach many people simply by driving throughout town. Using custom car magnets can entice new clients to order from your restaurant when they see the exciting food choices you advertise on your vehicles. Here are some instructions to make your menu to place on your company vehicles.

Start With A Background

Mount a piece of cork board to the side of your vehicle by gluing magnetic sheets to one side of the material. This will serve as a message board to be used on the side of your vehicle to display the specials of the day. Cork board is light-weight, making it a great choice for mounting signs upon. 

Add Another Layer

Purchase four printable magnetic sheets to use as the base of your sign. These can be purchased in a craft store or office supply store. Magnetic sheets come in white or black, making it easy to have your sign look like a dry erase board or chalkboard when it is completed. Place the magnetic sheets next to each other, forming a square or rectangle shape that fits on top of the cork board layer, allowing a few inches of the cork board to peek through around the edges.

Make Some Letters

Print out several letters and numbers on magnetic sheets using your printer. Make sure they are large enough to be seen from a distance. Print black or colored letters if using a white background. Print white letters if you are going for the chalkboard sign. Print around ten of each letter and number so you will be able to make several word combinations on the finished sign. Print out some dollar signs and periods to use for pricing, as well.

After these are printed, cut them out using a pair of scissors. Use a utility knife to cut the middles out of letters so you do not need to bend the magnets or poke holes in them with scissors to remove the middles.

Use Your Sign

You will now be able to use your sign daily to advertise whatever specials are being served. Keep all of your extra magnets inside a small box inside your vehicle in case you want to make a quick change.  Make sure to place your establishment name and phone number on your sign if you do not have it advertised elsewhere on your vehicle.
